Rocky Balboa: Knock Down That Wall!

Sylvester Stallone, the Italian Stallion, in Mexico to promote his latest installment of the Rocky saga was quoted in an AP story as having this to say about Latino immigrants and that Wall:
"I support Mexicans who work in my country," he said, adding that the United States depends on the hard work of Latinos to keep running.

Such a fence was "crazy" and "ridiculous," Stallone said, arguing nations should be able to interact without being divided by walls.
Rocky is the quintessential American underdog. A hardworking guy that can't afford to take anything or anyone for ground. He works hard every day while most others coast. He performs in the blazing heat and the bitter cold and does so without the benefit of a safety net simply because he was born on the wrong side of the tracks or the border.

The fancy people try to rip him off because they think he's too dumb or won't fight for himself. They call him names and harrass him and his family. And while there's cruelty, greed and dishonesty all around him, we learn to love him because we learn that he's not the monster that others claim and that he's really a great person. Actually, he's a much better person and more deserving than all of the phonies and harrassers combined.

Funny thing is that I've met a few Rockys in my days, and almost to a man they've been Latino immigrant workers.

Thank you, Stallone for speaking the truth. You're a good man.
