Haile Rivera: Dominicano, New American and Barack Obama Dinner Guest

On June 21, 2007, the Barack Obama campaign announced the 4 winners of a contest to have Dinner with Barack Obama.

The participants were selected from a group of thousands who submitted their personal stories along with a donation as small as $5 on the Obama campaign website. The winners were:

- Haile Rivera, Bronx NY (a community organizer)
- Michael Griffith, Fernley NV (a miner concerned about health care costs)
- Margaret Thomas-Jordan, Gonzales LA (the wife of a U.S. soldier in Iraq)
- Jennifer Lasko, Lake Worth FL (a former Republican Party activist)

Below is a video of Haile Rivera speaking from the streets of the Bronx and on the train to D.C. for his July 10th dinner date with Barack Obama. He's a charismatic young man with a future as a civic leader.
