Obama Nation Map: +North Carolina

Obama has won the North Carolina Democratic Party Primary by double digits (56% to 42% w/83% of the vote). In addition to losing this critical battleground state, the Clintons "game changing" results failed to materialize.

The Drudge Report has just posted that the Clintons will huddle with undecided super-delegates tomorrow to gauge if they can continue their campaign. Actually, the fact they these folks are still undecided about Hillary says it all. Great news!

Gingrich to GOP: Seek Real Change or Perish

While the Clintons and their allies in Rightwing media mock Obama's call for change, former Speaker of the House and GOP strategist Next Gingrich is imploring House Republicans to seek "real change to avoid a real disaster".

This is too funny. W has been a complete disaster. And leadership, vision or innovative ideas have in short supply in the U.S. House for years. But the idea that at this late point, the GOP House leadership and rank and file will finally get down to proposing real solutions to the country's problems--many created or made worse by a mean-spirited, elitist national GOP--is nuts!

And Gingrich offers a summer gas tax holiday as a serious solution!

On second thought there is something the House GOP could do which would be bold, helpful to the republic and could possibly ensure a John McCain victory: The House GOP could resign.

BTW: Is there any doubt that a shameless Hillary dons the agent of change costume for the Fall--in the event the Clinton Machine steals the nomination?

Obama Nation Map: +Guam

Lost in the noise that was this weekend's political "news" coverage was this small but important development: Senator Barack Obama win in Saturday's Guam Primary.

The margin of victory was tiny--just 7 votes, and the number of delegates earned minute (2 each), but it WAS a win.

And Obama won! He has now won 31 contests to Hillary's 15.

Kalyn Free - Native American Leader and Super-Delegate Endorses Obama

Kalyn Free, member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and founder and President of INDN's List, has endorsed Senator Barack Obama.

As a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, I am proud of what it means to be an American Indian. I am proud Barack Obama is committed to our unique issues and willing to tackle our toughest problems, from historical inequities and injustices to contemporary issues, like protection of our right to tribal self-determination, access to health care for our elders, and education for our children. Despite the threats that have faced our culture and our people, hope has lifted Indian people through the most difficult times. Because we remain connected to our past, our culture and our communities, we never gave up that hope.
May be this has something do to with why Kalyn has reached past Hillary. Hmmm. The Clintons dissing Native Americans. Sound familiar? And people think Hillary's "go-white and right" strategy is simply a tactical response to Obama's surge.

Tom Hanks Endorses Barack Obama

Obama Asks Indiana and North Carolina Democrats to Reach Higher

I just Obama and Hillary at the Jefferson Jackson Dinner in Indianapolis. Both were effective in touching all of their key talking points--jobs, gasoline prices, the Iraq War, health care, etc.

Hillary's speech was packed with her prescriptions for all that ails Americas. Additionally, she stayed out of the gutter in regards to Obama, elbowed her "dear friend" Senator John McCain on a few occasions and blasted Bush repeatedly. It was typical Hillary--plodding, uninspiring, dogged.

Obama's speech was both tough-minded and inspiring. His frame was that the bickering, game-playing, do-nothing approach of Washington--a great deal of which has been on display in the last few weeks--must be changed if common folks are to catch a break. Vote for Obama for a change in politics; vote for Hillary/McCain for more of the same.

Very interesting.

What's most interesting is that Obama's still standing after a month of withering attacks by the Clintonistas (Hill, Bill and surrogates) and their helpers on the hard right. Actually, I'm sensing this Tuesday may be a better night for the Obama campaign than the MSM and pundits have suggested.

Anyway, here's a video to remind you why you like Obama (and why the rightwing is terrified of him).

Reason #7 Why the Clinton Campaign Needs To Be Shutdown: Queen of mean-spirited politics is NOT a presidential qualification

Bill Clinton's former Labor Secretary Robert Reich--who today endorsed Barack Obama--said it best as recounted by Heilemann in the Daily Intel:

"I saw the ads" — the negative man-on-street commercials that the Clinton campaign put up in Pennsylvania in the wake of Obama's bitter/cling comments a week ago — "and I was appalled, frankly. I thought it represented the nadir of mean-spirited, negative politics. And also of the politics of distraction, of gotcha politics. It's the worst of all worlds.

We have three terrible traditions that we've developed in American campaigns. One is outright meanness and negativity. The second is taking out of context something your opponent said, maybe inartfully, and blowing it up into something your opponent doesn't possibly believe and doesn't possibly represent. And third is a kind of tradition of distraction, of getting off the big subject with sideshows that have nothing to do with what matters. And these three aspects of the old politics I've seen growing in Hillary's campaign."

Who Won The ABC Democratic Debate in Philadelphia? Sean Hannity

ABCNews' George Stephonopoulus and his hapless sidekick, Charlie Gibson were reading directly from the rightwing/Clintonista playbook.

The first half of the 2 hour debate involved George and Charlie lobbing many of the baseless allegations and guilty by association questions of today's most rabid wingnuts. The questions were the very ones rightwing screechers have been furiously pushing since they first learned that Barack Obama is a real threat to their continued political dominance. They were tabloid type gotcha questions designed to smear Barack: Bittergate, Rev. Wright, Chicago's Bill Ayers, Hamas, Louis Farahkan.

Along the way the dual gave Hillary the freedom to repeat many of the same charges and then some. Actually, she's the one that brought up Farrakhan and Hamas and purposely left the uninformed viewer to conclude that the associations were Obama's.

Why Sean Hannity?

Hannity has been using his radio program and perch on FOX to smear Obama. Very vile stuff in keeping with his supremacists politics and clear hate for progressive Americans--especially African Americans.

However, with their waning influence -- even with conservative Republicans (e.g., few Republicans listened when he advocated voting for Mitt Romney), Hannity and the other wingnuts' pogrom against Obama has had virtually no effect on public opinion.

Plan B (AUDIO: Hannity Feeds Stephanopoulos Debate Questions)

Hannity had George on his radio program yesterday and quickly learned that he had a willing ally. Hannity offered his tired litany of anti-Obama tabloid questions and George accepted. Not only did George accept but he himself offered that Obama, in his opinion, had not been vetted.

George, a Clintonista pseudo journalist, accepting aid from a rightwing propagandist with an unveiled agenda to defeat Barack Obama is a curious thing.

Additionally, Hillary's smirk and body language throughout the debate made it clear that she very well knew what was going down.

Notwithstanding the withering attack by George and Charlie (on behalf of the wingnuts and the Clintonistas), Hillary herself, and McCain (in abstentia), they did not knock Barack Obama down. He was smart, agile, tough and even graceful.

Obama's still standing. And he's still their biggest threat. And our biggest hope.

The real winner?

Barack Obama and decent Americans everywhere.

Yes, we can!
